Red heads are better at coping with pain; produce morphine.

Guess what gingers! That nifty little gene that produces red hair also produces a morphine-like substance that helps you dull pain.  That’s why it takes 20% more lidocain to knock you out during dental visits because you have a natural resistance to pain-killers.  Have a nice day =)

India requests Google & Facebook screen ALL user comments MANUALLY.

Facebook said earlier this year it has more than 25 million users in India. Google has over 100 million Internet users in India.”

Mr. Sibal told them that he expected them to use human beings to screen content, not technology, the executive said.”

H5N1 flu genetically modified to kill 1/2 the world’s population

I can’t generate enough tags to call enough attention to this article.  A Dutch doctor, whom sources say must look like this…

.. modified the H5N1 virus to be super-duper lethal.  And just in case this isn’t computing as a royally bad idea, within the article, there’s a nifty quote:

“It’s just a bad idea for scientists to turn a lethal virus into a lethal and highly contagious virus. And it’s a second bad idea for them to publish how they did it so others can copy it,” believes Dr. Thomas Inglesby, a bioterrorism expert

Thank you.. I don’t think we could have figured it out without the experts weighing in.

Apple bans 3rd-party apps and steals their features (and logos) for profit.

This has been an issue bobbing up into the collective tech-media for at least a year now.  Wired just ran a story on how Apple has been banning popular apps from its App Store and then incorporating those features into their firmware releases.  The worst part about this is Apple doesn’t pay the developers for borrowing their ideas.. rather they yank the rug out from under them and tie their apps up in a review process over arbitrary complaints.  Furthermore, it costs indie developers money to put these apps out: make changes to the app after release, pay artists, pay coders, and market their own software.   I’m no Miss Cleo, but this could be the makings of a large class-action lawsuit.
